Supporting Children and Young People

We can support children and young people to think through and express their views, wishes and aspirations. This is particularly important if you are going through an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment or have an Education, Health and Care Plan as your views will be considered above that of your parents. However, your parent, or other family members, can still continue to support you in making decisions, or act on your behalf, if you are happy with this.

The main areas we can help you with:

  • Schools, college or training
  • Getting the right healthcare
  • Getting the right support at home, school or in the workplace

You may want to look at the National Information Advice and Support Services Network website that has been put together to explain more about what we as a SENDIAS Service can do for you.

Here you will find webinars, guides, signposting and other information related to young people, mainly aimed at those between 16 – 25 years old.

Please note: we are currently working on a dedicated page where both children and young people will be able to have access themselves to easy read resources.
