SENDIAS LOGO

SENDIAS LOGO

Thank you to all who voted for their favourite logo and told us what they liked about it, and the elements (font, colours, etc) they liked better in others.  This has really helped us to create our final logo.

As you can see from the statistics below, number 7 (mixture of both signposting and service user themes) was the clear winner with 45.51% of the votes:

1 – 9.62%      2 – 8.97%      3 – 1.92%     4 – 11.54%     5 – 5.77%   6 – 16.67%   7 – 45.51%

Reviewing the 64 comments received from people that voted for this logo (Number 7), the main reasons why it was their favourite can be summed up from the following themes:

  • Says what you do and what services you offer (captures all elements).
  • Most eye catching and representative of service users and how you can help them.
  • Shows ‘inclusivity’ and ‘family’.

In terms of detailed elements of the logo (e.g font, colour, etc) it is difficult to pick out overall preferences, as comments were quite varied.

  • There were a few comments about wanting to start the logo off with a capital letter (as number 7 does), or to have the whole of ‘SEND’ in capitals as it is an acronym.
  • Some people wanted the colours changed to help the logo stand out and address any issues that may occur for those with colour blindness (e.g suggestions of blue and pink or green and pink instead of green and blue). However, a couple of comments did like the green and blue.
  • Some preferred the font in 1 / 2 / 4 / 5 with  2 and 5 getting the most positive comments.  Some preferred the tagline in 2 and 5 as it was clearer.  Also comments to say that these fonts were ‘cleaner’ and ‘easier to read’.  However, a couple of people mentioned that they liked the existing font in logo 7 and 6.

Thank you for all your comments.  This has helped us to make our final decision.

Having taken all this into account, and seeing the additional variations of Logo 7, we are pleased to launch our first ever West Sussex Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIAS) logo:

Vote on our new logo

We have obtained specific grant funding from the national ‘Information Advice and Support Programme’ to be able to have our very first SENDIAS service logo!  We are really excited about being able to develop our own service identity and know that this will help us when promoting our service and reaching those who most need us.

Thank you to those who voted on our name.  It was clear that most people wanted us to stay the same:

West Sussex SEND Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIAS)

The next step is to choose a logo that will help people to identify who we are and what we do in helping people by giving information, advice and support.  We would like you to help us with this decision.

What stands out to you most as something that would identify this service to you…?

Once you have looked at the 7 options below, we will ask you to:

  • pick your favourite logo overall.
  • explain why you like this one the most.
  • Let us know if there is anything from another logo that you would have liked as part of your favourite one (e.g. maybe a font, a colour, etc)

The 7 logos to vote from are:

FOCUSING ON THE SIGNPOSTING AND TALKING THROUGH OPTIONS (IAS) OF THE SERVICE:

     1)

 2)

   3)

 FOCUSING ON THE SERVICE USERS:

        4)

   5)

 6)

MIXTURE OF BOTH:

       7)

By answering these questions, you will help us decide what our logo should look like.  It may look slightly different from any of the ones above, depending on the comments that we receive.  We will do our best to go with what the majority are telling us.

Once we have decided on our logo, you may also see a circular version of it at times.  This will give us more flexibility to use whichever one works best in different situations (e.g. circular version would work best for Facebook page profile picture).

Thank you again for taking this time to help us with our decision.

Voting Closes on Monday 16th November 2020

To change or not to change, that is the question!

**UPDATE**

There is just over one week left to have your say about whether we change our name or stay the same – and we would really love to hear your opinion.

Thank you to those who have already responded. Several have mentioned wanting us to go back to ‘Parent Partnership’. Unfortunately this was changed with the new legislation due to the fact that our remit widened to offer information to children and young people and not just their parents (as previously done). We would therefore be unable to return to this name but if you would like to offer another suggestion, we would love to hear your ideas.

If you have an opinion or suggestion please get your votes in. Thank you.

***********************************************************************

We’re considering a name change and we’d like your help.  People who use our service tell us (and our own experience shows) that there is often confusion around our name.  This means we get mixed up with other services which have ‘SEND’ in their name.

So we could drop the ‘SEND’ part from our name, but make our remit clear in our strapline – providing advice and guidance to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities and their parent/carers.

We are also developing a new logo and the SEND theme will come through strongly in this: options are currently being worked on.  When it’s ready we’ll ask you which design best reflects what we do.

For now, though, what do you think about a name change?

Please vote below to let us know which you’d prefer.  Thank you!
